ABOUT US
Our Mission:
1) Recruit "Striving-to-Thrive" Youth (PreK-5th Grade) in Fort Bend County Texas and Provide them with 6 (six) Age-Appropriate Financial Education lessons per year.
2) Contribute up-to $500 per participant/year and invest the funds in the low-cost Vanguard S&P 500 Large Cap ETF (VOO).
3) Upon reaching the age of majority (Age 18 in Texas), the Life All-Stars gift the accumulated funds to the participant to provide for their welfare/needs or further investment.

Financial Literacy for "Striving-to-Thrive" Youth in Fort Bend County, Texas
Age-Appropriate Financial Education
Knowing your Dollars and Cents
Knowledge is Power! We provide opportunities for "Striving-to-Thrive" youth to learn about money management, budgeting, saving vs. spending, and opportunities to learn and ask questions in a small-group setting. We provide an age-appropriate (K-5) curriculum based on the FDIC.gov Money Smart lesson plan. We present the lessons w/ hands-on exercises 6 times a year (3 times in the Spring and 3 times in the Fall). Our goal is to start with young Fort Bend students, teach them the fundamentals of money, wants vs. needs, and each year add more information on how banks work, the fundamentals of compounded interest and investment vehicles. Providing Financial Literacy education that "compounds" each year will hopefully provide our participants with the tools and knowledge they'll need to make good financial decisions after they graduate high school.
Gifts and Investment Growth
Providing a vehicle to grow individual net worth!
Compounding interest is the 8th wonder of the world, and the S&P 500 Index is a great way to grow wealth! Our Mission is to provide the vehicle for youth to be invested early in life and grow a nest egg for their future.
Life All-Stars offers total contributions of up-to $500 per participant per year in a Brokerage account that invests in the Vanguard S&P 500 Large Cap ETF (VOO) fund. Our goal is to follow participants through each successive grade-level, increasing their financial literacy as well as the investments in an S&P 500 Index Fund. Upon reaching the age 18, the Life All-Stars writes a gift check equal to the value of the fund to the participant, and they can use the funds to provide for their benefit/welfare and potential further personal investment and compounding.
In Summary, we seek to provide a financial foundation to Fort Bend youth:

Give them the KNOWLEDGE (over time) to help them make better financial decisions,

The starting CAPITAL and 12-14 years for the investments to grow for a great head-start at age 18,

A nurturing NETWORK to help them learn, practice skills, and ask questions.
